Call to Arms
In this section you can learn about
the various aspects of the military in the 17th Century. The
army's of both the King and Parliament began the war as a
motley crew of troops badly armed and worse trained. Yet by
1645 both the new model army and Oxford army had progressed
into the most effective fighting forces in Europe, indeed by
the time of the commonwealth the army of England was the
most feared and successful ever known!
